Did your subject come to the portrait sitting wearing grungy sweatpants? No problem. Use a flower to cover up what is below the person's waist and add some color and interest to the portrait at the same time. The effect can be dramatic or more romantic, depending on the flower you choose.
This tutorial features fresh flowers, but fake ones work just as well. The bloom should be at least medium sized, such as a rose bloom or lily. Anything too small, such as lily of the valley, will not suffice to cover the full bottom half of the person being photographed.
