How to make a tulle flower pillowcase

Not all pillowcases are meant to be slept on. Delicate tulle flowers add a bit of whimsy to couch pillows, but you don't have to limit the flowers to pillowcases. Attach a few to the bottom hem of a skirt or the front pocket of jeans.
The project uses pink tulle, but you can use any color scheme you like. You also can make the flowers bigger by purchasing a wider spool of tulle and using larger tulle squares. This tutorial uses a pillowcase that opens, but you can add flowers to sealed pillows, too. Just knot the thread beneath the flower on the pillow's outside instead of on the case's inside.

Instructions
1. Cut one 12-inch length of tulle. Cut it in half to create two 6-inch squares.
2. Place the pieces on top of each other. Cut them in half to get 3-by-6-inch rectangles.
3. Align the pieces on top of each other horizontally. Cut them in half to create 3-inch-by-3-inch squares.
4. Line the pieces up, one on top of the other. Trim off the points and cut around the tulle to create approximately 2-inch circles.
5. Separate the tulle pieces. Pleat one piece while holding onto the bottom point. Repeat the pleating with each piece, holding the previously pleated pieces between your fingers while doing this. You want to have all pleated tulle points pressed together.
6. Double-thread the needle, and knot the bottom. Sew the bottom tulle points together. Do not cut the thread; leave it and the needle in place.
7. Slip off the pillowcase. Arrange the flower where you want it. Sew the flower to the case, inserting the needle from the front to the inside. Knot the thread on the inside of the case. Cut off the thread, and replace the pillow form.
