Easy shoe embellishment: How to make a ribbon strap for high heels

Heels are great when it's time to dress up or go to work, but it may be time to change your heels' look. Ribbons add feminine touches to what already is a feminine shoe style. This easy project adds a soft embellishment to basic heels via satin ribbon. The tutorial uses pink leather cord and white ribbon to match pink heels, but you may use any color that works with your shoes.
For example, add black cord and ribbon to black high heels for an elegant style, or brown cord and blue ribbon with brown footwear. The cord should be as close to the shoe color as possible, but the ribbon can match, be complementary or contrast.

Instructions
1. Cut off 6 inches of leather cord. Slide one end through the strap on the inside of the shoe. Pull an end until the cord is of equal length on both sides of the strap.
2. Bring together the cord ends. Tie a knot as close to the ends as you can get.
3. Measure out 18 inches of ribbon. Fold it in half lengthwise. Cut it off the spool at an angle.
4. Put the candle in the bowl and light the candle. Carefully run each angled end near the flame so the heat seals the edges.
5. Slide one ribbon end through the cord attached to the shoe until the ribbon is halfway through it. Bring together the ends of the ribbon. Tie the ribbon so the knot is under the cord's knot.
