Keep rain off the floor with this umbrella holder made from a rain boot

Rain boots are great to keep socks dry, but they can be just as handy keeping the floor dry. If you've outgrown your boots, either the size or the style, reuse one of them as an umbrella holder stationed near the door. The taller the boot, the better the boot will be able to hold an umbrella in place without toppling over. This project is easy and does not take a lot of time to do.
The tutorial uses tissue paper in shades of blue to emulate water, but you may use any color scheme you want. The boot also can hold things other than an umbrella. For example, use red and green tissue paper to decorate, and fill the boot with pine boughs at Christmastime. For year-round use, add long-stem fake flowers or pussy willows and cattails.

Instructions
1. Unfold the tissue paper. Place the tissue paper sheets one on top of another and smooth them out. Cut them into random triangles 2 to 3 inches high. Separate the triangles.
2. Apply Mod Podge 2 inches down from the top of the boot along one side. Press triangles into place, lining them so the bases create a straight line across the top. Continue creating a line 2 inches down around the boot's circumference.
3. Continue applying Mod Podge and triangles down the boot until you reach 1 inch above where the ankle would be. Overlap triangles as necessary to cover spaces.

4. Apply a layer of Mod Podge over all triangles. Let dry.
