Add color to shoes: How to make a tassel for a strap

A good tassel has plenty of places to hang, such as on a shoe or purse strap, or backpack zipper. It also comes in handy as a zipper pull for a jacket. Leather cord comes in a variety of colors, so choose whichever one goes with whatever you are planning on putting it on. For fun, make different colored tassels and put unmatched ones on your shoes straps.
This project is extremely easy and crafters can complete it in less than 10 minutes. Since it is such a quick project, try making several in different colors. Run a length of twine or ribbon through the tie-ons to create a cluster you can hang from the ceiling on a removable hook or hang from a door handle.

Instructions
1. Wrap the cord around your first three fingers seven times. Cut off the excess.
2. Cut off 4 inches of wire. Hold the wrapped cord horizontally. Measure 1/4 inch in from the end of the bunch. Wrap the wire five time around the cord at that location. Trim excess wire and bend it so it doesn't stick out.
3. Cut through the bottom of the loops farthest from the wrapped wire.
4. Pull out a fraction of one cord at the top of the tassel so it makes a tiny loop. Run a piece of cord through the hole for use as a tie-on.
