Cut up old tablecloth, create a fashionable statement in the kitchen

With the holidays coming up, there is bound to be a tablecloth that tragically becomes stained or ripped or burned. Instead of throwing that tablecloth out, you can easily turn it into a flirty, vintage-inspired apron in just one afternoon.
This apron would also work well for crafting, for those who shine more in the craft room than the kitchen. Either way, you'll be able to carry the items you need and protect the clothes you love with this adorable and easy-to-make apron.

Instructions
1. Fold your tablecloth in half. Measure a 4-inch strip across the bottom. This will be the waistband of your apron. Cut out your 4-inch strip.
2. Fold the edges of the strip in about 1/2 inch and press. For the entire strip in half lengthwise and press. Set this part aside.
3. Lay out the remaining fabric from your tablecloth. For the bottom edge up about 9 inches. Pin the folded edge to the body of the fabric.
4. Measure 18 inches high and 22 inches across, including the folded edge you just pinned. Mark the area and cut.
5. On the piece you just cut, fold the short edges in about 1/2 inch and press, including the 9-inch folded edge you pinned.
6. Sew along the short edges.
7. Lay your main piece face-up with the 9-inch fold facing up. Mark where your pockets will go. We chose to have three. Sew along the markings you made for the pockets. You only need to sew to the top of the 9-inch fold.
8. Remove the pins you used on the 9-inch fold, and iron your whole piece.
9. Find the middle point of the main piece and the waistband strip by folding both in half and marking with a pin. Then unfold both and match up the pins. Pin the two pieces together, slipping the main piece between the fold of the strip.
