Transform an old wood ladder into beautiful, functional home decor

What can be done with an old item, such as a ladder, that takes up so much space in the garage? Repurpose it into home decor. You can use an old wooden ladder to display throw pillows and blankets in the living room.
Preserve the primitive look of a wood ladder with a light coat of chalk paint, which will protect the wood and give a clean, yet distressed look. Secure vintage hardware, such as valves or knobs, to the sides of the ladder to show off an appreciation for industrial and steampunk decor.
