Add flair to any bag with a bevy of old brooches

The right purse accentuates an outfit and makes it look even better, but why stop there? Brooches are a fun and quirky way to layer on style for almost no cost at all. Adding them to a bag elevates it from "just another accessory" to an eye-catching statement piece bursting with personality. Best of all, this fashion upgrade takes mere minutes to complete.
This project calls for a round rattan purse and five brooches, but that doesn't mean you can't let your imagination run wild with customization ideas. Add pizazz to any purse — whether it's leather, canvas or another durable material — with as few or as many baubles as desired. No matter the final product, this embellished bag is sure to turn a few heads.

Instructions
1. Snip off the pins from the backs of the brooches using pliers.
2. Sand any rough spots left from the pins. This also helps the hot glue bond to the surface.
3. Add hot glue to the back of the brooches, and place them in a line going across the middle of the purse. Allow the glue to dry.
4. If using E6000 glue instead of a glue gun, allow at least 24 hours for the glue to cure. For the strongest bond, allow it to dry for 72 hours.
