Find a new purpose for an empty wine bottle. Turn it into a rustic flower vase

Flowers add a lovely feminine touch to any room in the home, but coming up with just the right vase to display them isn’t always simple. There’s no need to head off to the store in search of a pricey product when repurposing an empty wine bottle will do the trick. Removing the label and adding a collection of twine craft rope around the bottom creates a rustic-chic vase that’s truly one of a kind.
Fill a wine bottle flower vase with faux or authentic lavender stems for some country-style charm that works well in the kitchen, bathroom or on a living room coffee table. While lavender stems attached to the exterior of the wine bottle pull the look together, these can easily be swapped out to match the florals that will be placed within the vase. A wine bottle flower vase easily stands alone but can be quite eye-catching when placed among a collection of bottle vases on a bookshelf or countertop.

Instructions

1. Remove the label from an empty wine bottle by applying Goo Gone adhesive remover to a rubbing cloth or paper towel. Rub the cloth over the label until it’s completely dissolved.
2. Apply a line of hot glue to the bottom edge of the bottle and press a length of thick craft twine to the glue to secure it to the glass.
3. Wrap and glue the thick craft twine around the bottom of the bottle three times. Cut the twine away from the spool at the end of three loops.
4. Tie three stems of lavender together with a piece of thin craft twine.
5. Apply hot glue to the back of the lavender bundle and press it to the center of the wine bottle with the flowers facing up towards the neck.
6. Fill the wine bottle vase with lavender or a preferred flower and set it on the bathroom sink, kitchen counter, or living room coffee table to display and admire.
