Lemony fresh style: Energize a makeup brush holder with washi tape

Authentic washi tape is a Japanese innovation made with washi paper. The material is thin yet strong, so it can hold up to household use but comes off easily without leaving any residue. That way, if you ever outgrow the look of this brush holder, it takes no effort to peel off the tape and reapply new colors and patterns.

Materials
- Glass canister
- Yellow washi tape, 15 millimeters (about 1/2 inch) wide
- Lemon print washi tape, 15 millimeters (about 1/2 inch) wide
- Gray washi tape, 15 millimeters (about 1/2 inch) wide
- Scissors
- Rice, 1 cup

Instructions
1. Line up the bottom edge of the yellow washi tape with the bottom edge of the canister. Wrap the tape all the way around the canister. Trim with scissors.

2. Line up the bottom edge of the lemon washi tape with the top edge of the yellow tape. Wrap the tape all the way around the canister and trim with scissors.

3. Repeat step 2 with the gray washi tape. Finish covering the canister by adding layers of tape in this order: lemon, yellow, lemon and gray.

4. Add about a cup of rice to the canister. Place makeup brushes in the canister and enjoy.
