Tidy a table with a colorful Washi tape tray

Have a table full of trinkets? Corral them with a tray decorated with Washi tape. A Washi tape tray serves double duty by both tidying a surface and brightening up a room. It's also an easy way to inject color and personality into any space.
Washi tape comes in almost an endless combination of sizes, colors and prints. The tray in this project uses silver tape in the most common size, 15 millimeters wide, and mint green printed tape in a slightly larger format of 20 millimeters wide. Consider switching things up and customizing the tray to suit your tastes or the style of the room it'll be in. The process of shopping around for different tape designs is half the fun of making this tray.

Instructions
1. Place the tray on a table or work surface. Use the silver tape to make the first stripe along the bottom edge of the tray. Cut the tape with an X-Acto knife.
2. Create the second stripe by placing a line of mint green tape directly above the first line of silver tape. Cut the tape.
3. Repeat the pattern until the tray's surface is covered. Depending on the size of the tray and tapes you use, you may have to trim the width of the final stripe.
4. Paint a thin layer of Mod Podge over the taped surface of the tray. Allow it to dry.
5. Display the tray and fill it with the trinkets of your choosing.
