A wreath made from wood slices is a nice way to accentuate the decor of a rustic home. Hobby shops and craft stores have various sizes of slices available, but you also can use slices cut from fallen branches. Just make sure they are free of insects before you bring them into the home. Thoroughly dry the slices prior to using them in this craft.
When decorating homes with darker wood finishes, hang the slices as they are in the wreath for a contrasting look, or stain the slices prior to adhering them to the wreath for a complementary decoration. You can also paint the rounds any desired color prior to attaching them to the base for a custom look that you love.

- Cardboard wreath base, 12-inch or bigger diameter
- 12 or more wood slices, approximately 3 inches in diameter

Instructions
1. Place each of the larger rounds along the face of the wreath base. Do not attach the slices to the base.
2. Glue a smaller round on top of two larger rounds where the larger rounds touch each other. Repeat this step where each larger slice abuts another. When the glue is dry, remove the circle of slices from the base.
3. Overlap the stems of two sprigs and glue them together. Add more sprigs if desired.
4. Place a dot of glue at the top of one glue stem (just the stem, not the top of the sprig). Adhere the end of the twine. Wrap the twine around the joined stems until they are covered. Trim excess twine and glue the trimmed end to a stem.
5. Run a thick line of glue alone the back of the wrapped twine and press the twine horizontally to the center of the bottom wood slice.
6. Make a bow out of twine and glue it to the front center of the wrapped twine.
7. Cut off 24 inches of twine and bring the ends together. Slide the double strands under the top of the wreath so the two ends stick out above the wreath. Bring the two ends down over the face and through the twine loop below. Snug the loop around the wreath.

8. Tie a top loop with the twine's ends and hang the wreath where desired.
