The quintessential chrome napkin holder keeps napkins tidy and dry, but it can also give your dinner table a dingy diner vibe. Take that tired napkin holder, and transform it into a rainbow for your tabletop. All you need besides the holder is Mod Podge, scissors, an E-Xacto knife and — what else — napkins.
This project uses napkins in pink, yellow and blue to turn the holder into a miniature rainbow. Mod Podge adheres the napkins to the chrome while also protecting the paper from scuffing. The result is a holder that’s not only beautiful on its own, but also complements the decorative napkins. Use the same color scheme for your project, or opt for napkins in different colors or decorated with your favorite print.

1. Peel the white layer away from the pink layer of a napkin. Discard the white layer, and set aside the pink layer.
2. Paint a layer of Mod Podge onto the largest metal ring of a napkin holder. Place the pink napkin onto the Mod Podge. Cut the excess napkin away from the outside of the ring with scissors. Use the X-Acto knife to trim away the excess napkin from the inside of the ring. Trim the ends of the napkin, then use Mod Podge to glue the loose ends to the bottom of the holder.
3. For the middle ring of the holder, repeat steps 1 and 2 with a yellow napkin.
4. For the smallest ring, repeat steps 1 and 2 with a blue napkin.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the opposite side of the holder.
6. Paint a final layer of Mod Podge on each ring of the napkin holder. When it's dry, fill with pink, yellow and blue napkins, then display and enjoy!
