Combine natural appeal and shine with this DIY flower wall art made with rocks

Floral decorations are a wonderful way to incorporate a bit of feminine flair into your home’s aesthetic. When looking for a way to tastefully include a petaled accent piece without going over the top, consider designing a work of DIY art that uses natural stones. The texture and earth-toned hues arranged in the shape of a flower balance out the tendency for floral décor to lean toward something a little too camp.
Arranging the stones on top of an unfinished wood board is a budget-friendly route to creating a stylish piece that complements a natural look. Consider adding an outline of gold paint for extra shimmer that catches the eye of every guest in your home. You can mount this unique rock flower wall art on a pale wall in the living room for a backdrop that lets the stones pop. Alternatively, you could set it on a shelf next to a stack of leather books for a cozy look that brings out the best in the rocks' varied colors.

Instructions

1. Fill a plastic paint palette with gold metallic acrylic paint.
2. Paint the outer edges of a 12-by-12-inch unfinished wood board using a flat-tipped paintbrush. Leave the paint edges ragged for added texture and design appeal.
3. Apply Gorilla Super Glue Gel to the back of 15 individual smooth, black stones to create a circle in the center of the wood board. Leave approximately 3 inches of space in the center of the stone circle.
4. Arrange the remaining 35 black stones in a series of five petal shapes around the central circle extending out toward the edges of the board. Attach each stone to the board using super glue.
5. Fill the center of the black stone circle with a collection of 30 smaller, colorful stones in a pattern of descending concentric circles. Attach each small stone in place with super glue.
6. Mount the floral rock wall art in your living room or set it upright on a bookshelf to admire and enjoy.
