Never lose a piece of mail again with this mail sorter

Mail can pile up quickly, and before you know it, a wedding announcement or a birthday card gets lost in the mix. A unique, one-of-a-kind mail sorter will bring the order you crave and provide the opportunity to display your good news. Instead of buying a mail sorter that everyone has already seen, find an old copy of a favorite book, and in a few minutes, you’ll have a mail sorter that not only helps organize your life but also shows your love of literature.
For this project, you will need a hardback book. The hard cover will provide enough support and structure to your mail slots so you will be able to use it for several pieces of mail at a time. You can set the literary mail sorter on the counter or by the front door for quick organizing, or use it to display cards and announcements by mounting it on the wall.

Instructions
1. Measure about 4 inches horizontally across the front cover of the book, and make a line with the permanent marker.
2. Make parallel 4-inch lines at least one inch apart down the front of your book. These will be additional mail sorting slots.
3. Cut along the 4-inch line you drew using the utility knife.
4. Make two more cuts vertically at the ends of the line, measuring about 1/4 inch, and connect the top of the vertical cuts using the utility knife. This creates a slot.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with all of the lines on the front of the book.
6. Peel out the pieces to open the slots.
