Making a dollhouse from reused materials? Build stairs out of a cardboard box

Making a dollhouse with reused materials is a fun way to entertain kids or connect with your inner child. These stairs made from a cardboard box will help you take the fun to the next level. Young ones will love letting their imaginations take them to the second floor and you will enjoy the simple pleasure of putting it all together.
Once you get the hang of it, you will discover that these floating stairs are easy to assemble. A landing halfway down allows the stairs to pivot and save space. The open design also lets kids see into the dollhouse and leaves room for their little hands or dolls to play. Grab some scissors, hot glue and a box from your latest Amazon order and build these stairs in the blink of an eye.

Instructions
1. Cut the flap off of a cardboard box. With a ruler and pencil, draw two rectangles. The first rectangle should be 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. The second rectangle should be 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Cut out the rectangles.
2. Put a line of hot glue on the long edge of the small rectangle. Place it on the underside of the large rectangle just shy of the side. This will form one step with a slight overhang.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to create a second step.
4. Put a line of hot glue on top of the first step near the back edge of the large rectangle. Press the bottom edge of the small rectangle from the second step into the glue. You now have two steps completed of your stairs.
5. Continue to make and glue together steps until you have four steps in total. Cut out a square piece of cardboard, then glue the bottom step to it to create a landing.
6. Make another set of nine steps. Glue the top step to the bottom of the landing adjacent to the set of four steps.
7. Paint the top of the steps with white acrylic paint. Allow the paint to dry.
8. Your new dollhouse stairs are complete! Place them in your dollhouse and let your imagination run wild.
