Create island-inspired coasters from felt in just a few minutes

Coasters allow guests to enjoy beverages without your having to worry about moisture rings showing up on delicate surfaces afterward. Although their primary purpose is to protect surfaces, coasters also can lend aesthetic appeal. Bring a touch of island inspiration into your home with DIY felt coasters.
A palm-frond stencil makes for a summery addition that you can swap out when the seasons change. Felt is absorbent enough to handle spills and is available in a variety of colors, so customizing these coasters is simple. Crafting these felt coasters in shades of green, for example, provides just the right color contrast with a bright beverage garnished with oranges. All it takes is a few minutes to design these stylish felt coasters.
