Don't throw out that shoebox. Turn it into a paper towel roll holder

Anyone who has a passion for buying shoes understands how quickly those empty boxes can accumulate. Although the cardboard containers are ideal for getting shoes from the store to home with ease, it’s likely that they’ll simply find their way to the back corner of the closet over time. Instead of throwing them out or recycling them during spring cleaning, consider turning one into a handy organizational accessory such as a paper towel roll holder.
A round cardboard shoebox works best for this project. The lid is already the ideal size and shape for creating the base. Adding decorative and colorful tape around the perimeter is a quick and easy way to incorporate color, and adding gemstones, regular stones or buttons guarantees this paper towel roll holder ends up with a stylish twist. Once the center dowel rod is added, it’s time to add the paper towels and put the holder to work. Set it next to the sink or elsewhere on the countertop for easy access when dealing with spills or messes.
