Collect a sock and a pair of scissors & copy this home decor

You can make plenty of necessary items from an old sock, but nothing is perhaps easier or more elegant than this comfortable, aromatic eye mask. Create one for your bathroom or one to place beside your bed at night. You can also use a few old, mateless socks to make eye masks for your friends and family members, and give them away as stocking stuffers during the holidays.
This craft is not only easy but fun. You can choose the scents that best speak to you, and create a small but useful item from a sock that no longer has a purpose. The next time you feel like taking on a simple DIY, try out this sock-to-eye mask upcycle.

Instructions
1. Place the sock on a clean, dry work surface. Turn it inside-out, and place it with the heel facing up. Smooth down the sides of the sock, and smooth the heel, so it lays flat against the back of the sock, pointed toward the opening. With the scissors, cut just above the heel, discarding the ankle portion of the sock.
2. Pin the heel to the opening, leaving a small hole, and use a sewing machine to sew the heel to the sock, leaving a small hole. Turn the sock inside-out again using the small hole, so the outside is now facing out.
3. Pour several drops of essential oil into a bowl of dry, uncooked rice. Mix the oil into the rice with a small spoon. Next, place a funnel inside the opening of the sock, and spoon the rice into the sock. Readjust the sock, and funnel as necessary to make sure the rice is able to fill the entire sock.
Tip: If you don't have a funnel, you can easily create one by pinning a stiff piece of felt into a cone shape.
4. Turn the ends of the sock that aren't sewn together inward, so they won't fray. Then use a needle and thread to sew the last hole closed. Tie a knot in the thread after you have finished sewing up the hole, and cut the excess thread with a pair of scissors.
Now, you have a lovely eye mask you can use whenever you're feeling stressed, and it will cost you a lot less than a trip to the spa.
