Whip out a satin headband & reproduce this project

What do bedazzled phone cases, patterned socks and flashy furniture covers have in common? They all exist at the intersection of style and function; headbands live there, too.
Still, there's a good chance you haven't donned a headband since your mom used them to keep your bangs out of your eyes (or since the "Gossip Girl" era, depending on your age). Either way, there's no denying that headbands are back en vogue, and this simple DIY project will let you buy into the ornate headband trend without actually buying much of anything.

Instructions
1. Measure the perimeter of the satin headband, then lay the measuring tape on a flat surface. Unspool an amount of tulle equal to two of the headband lengths and trim it.
2. Fold the tulle in half and place pins down the center line. Place another line of pins a quarter of the tulle's length from the edge on each side, so you're left with four equal sections of tulle divided by three lines of pins.
3. Using the sewing machine, sew along each of the lines of pins, being careful to leave extra thread at the end of each line.
4. Once each of the three lines is sewn, lay the tulle flat and pull the ends of the strings to cinch the tulle.
5. Wrap the tulle around the headband, pinning it in place at each of the cinched points.
6. Pull the needle and thread through one end of tulle. Sew it to the corresponding end of the headband with a few stitches, then trim the string. Do the same thing at each of the cinched points and the opposite end of the headband, so the tulle is firmly sewn to the headband.
7. Gather pearl beads of various sizes and stitch them into the tulle in a random pattern with the needle and thread. Continue to affix pearl beads until the entire headband is equally covered.
