Laundry day just got better with these dryer balls made from old socks

Laundry is a fact of life — something that never seems to end no matter how often we do it. Although it's not possible to get rid of this task completely, at least we can make sure that the end result is something we love: softer, static-free clothes that smell good and feel even better. That's why dryer balls are so handy.
Cross fabric softener off the weekly shopping list because this project will not only save you time but money by creating a new way to keep clothes soft. All you need is a few pairs of wool socks (other materials won't work) and a couple other things you probably already have in your closet or around the house. Turn laundry day into something worth celebrating with this helpful DIY project.

Instructions
1. Cut a sock into thin strips, approximately 1/2 inch.
2. Roll the toe piece into a ball.
3. Wrap the next strip around the ball, forming a slightly bigger ball.
4. Continue wrapping the strips around each other until all are used.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for the other two socks.
6. Cut off one leg of the pantyhose.
7. Stuff one ball into the pantyhose leg and tie a knot, making sure to tie it tightly against the ball because the ball will shrink.
8. Add in the second ball and tie a knot, and do the same thing for the third ball.
9. Wash the balls on hot with detergent, and dry on hot. This will cause the wool to felt. Repeat this step two to three times.

10. Remove the balls from the pantyhose.
