Save your lace & pretty up any space with this idea

A decorative pillow accented with delicate lace adds warmth and an air of classic beauty to a space. This lace pillow DIY project is absolutely doable, even if you’re a sewing novice, so it would be almost as easy to fashion a pair of these lacy, cloud-like confections. Choose a fabric in a rich hue if you want to add a pop of color to the room, or opt for a neutral if you want to keep things calm and visually unified.
Creating a cover instead of simply sewing it onto a pillow allows you remove the pillow insert for washing later, if necessary. Add a touch of lace to two opposing corners, as shown in the tutorial, or to all four. The beauty of this project is not just the finished product, but that you can customize it to your taste and the look of the room. This pretty throw cushion does double duty as something to cuddle with while watching Netflix and chilling, and introducing an elevated level of elegance to the space as you welcome guests.

Instructions
1. Place the pillow insert on the work surface, and measure it with the sewing tape measure.
2. Place the cutting mat on the work surface, and gather the rotary cutter and the ruler.
3. Fold a piece of fabric in half that fits the specifications of the pillow, and place it on top of the cutting mat.
4. Fold the fabric horizontally again so four layers of fabric sit on top of the cutting mat.
5. Measure out 10” vertically (but adjust for the size of pillow insert you have and include a 1/4-inch seam allowance) and make this cut with the rotary cutter.
6. Unfold the fabric once so it forms a horizontally oriented rectangle on top of the mat.
7. Use the scissors to cut through the fold on the right side of the fabric, separating the layers.
8. Place the ruler at the very edge of the left side of the fabric and trim that edge with the rotary cutter.
9. Trim the bottom edge the same way, neatening the edge with the scissors if necessary.
10. Set aside these two pieces of fabric, which will be for the back of the pillow.
11. Put the second piece of fabric on the cutting mat, and smooth it out.
12. Trim it into a square consistent with the size of the pillow insert’s dimensions using the ruler and rotary cutter.
13. Put the cutting mat aside, and place the large fabric square you just cut on the work surface.
14. Cut two triangular pieces of lace so they fit over the upper left and bottom right corners of the fabric square, with a bit overlapping both sides of each corner.
15. Use straight pins to attach the lace to the edges of the fabric, both on the two outside edges and the diagonal edge.
16. With scissors, trim any excess lace that extends beyond the edges of the fabric .
17. Put this piece of fabric with the pinned lace aside.
18. Gather the other two rectangular pieces of fabric and lay them out on the work surface.
19. Cut two triangular pieces of lace. One will fit on the top left corner of one of the fabric rectangles, and the other will be placed on the bottom right corner of the other piece.
20. Pin each piece of lace to its piece of fabric, and trim any overhanging lace with scissors. The lace will align with the lace applied to the front of the pillow.
21. Turn one of the two fabric rectangle over so its backside is facing you.
22. Place the ruler’s long edge underneath the top edge of the fabric and slide it down about 1/2 inch.
23. Put the ruler aside and fold the edge down again, about another 1/2 inch.
24. Pin the folded edge down to create a finished edge.
25. Repeat steps 21 to 24 on the other fabric rectangle.
26. Sew the pinned edges of each fabric triangle, removing the pins as you go.
27. Flip over the pieces, and sew the lace's edge, following any curves, to the middle of the fabric and to the edges.
28. Sew the lace pieces onto the large fabric square the same way.
29. Place the front cover of the pillow facing toward you on the work surface. The lace should be on the fabric square’s upper left and lower right corners.
30. Place the two back fabric pieces, right sides facing downward, onto the large square so the lace on the rectangular pieces’ corners lines up with the lace corners on the large square. (The finished edges should overlap in the middle.)
