Collect a small paper plate and follow this DIY

If you’re looking for new ways to get creative at home, try making wall art with a paper plate loom. The finished product is a cheerful addition to a nook or bedroom. This doubles as a home art project that will keep elementary and middle school-aged children engaged for hours. Children will practice self-expression and spatial awareness while developing an understanding of color theory.
There are a few techniques to keep in mind before tackling this woven wall art. If you want a looser weave, make fewer cuts in the plate. More cuts, on the other hand, will result in a tighter weave. In any case, cut an odd number of lines for your loom to work.

Instructions
1. Draw an odd number of lines around the edge of the plate. The lines should be evenly spaced apart. This project has 19 lines, but you can add more or less depending on how tight or loose you want the weave. Make a small cut at each line.
2. Fasten the end of the yellow yarn through one of the cuts. Tape the end of the yarn to the back of the plate. Stretch the yarn across the front of the plate, and fasten it through the cut directly across from the first cut.
3. Wrap the yarn around the back of the plate, and pull it through the adjacent cut. Stretch the yarn across the front of the plate, and fasten it through the cut directly across. Repeat until the yarn looks like the spokes of a wheel. Cut the end, then remove the tape from the other end of the yarn. Knot the ends together behind the plate.
4. Cut a long length of white yarn. Take one end, and knot it around the center of the spokes. Trim the knot.
5. Weave the yarn over a strand and under the next. Weave in a circle around the center of the spokes until you’re out of yarn or ready to move on to the next color.
6. Cut a long length of pink yarn. Take one end, and knot it to the end of the white yarn. Trim the knot. Continue weaving around the loom in an over-under pattern.
7. Repeat step 6 with gray yarn, followed by yellow yarn. Continue repeating this pattern until you’ve filled up the loom. Knot the end of the yarn to one of the yellow spokes. Trim the knot.
8. Turn the loom over. To create a hanger for your wall art, tie both ends of a piece of yarn to the yellow yarn on the back of the plate. Then, hang your completed art and enjoy.
