Pick up a large, hinged shutter with a tilt rod at the store & reproduce this painless concept

After a long day, nothing beats kicking back with a magazine. But seeing all the clutter magazines create on your coffee table is a different story. Luckily, it takes little more than a fresh coat of paint to transform an old shutter into a one-of-a-kind magazine rack. Guests will adore how beautiful and inventive your new rack is, and you’ll love how easy it is to make.
Be sure to find an old shutter with a tilt rod for this project, as it gives you the freedom to adjust the positioning of the slats. This is important for storing thicker magazines like Vogue. Even though you’ll remove the tilt rod and discard it, you’ll still be able to move individual slats as needed.
