Line a craft stick with bobby pins & make this stylish project

There’s no question that a striking pair of chandelier earrings tops off an ensemble like nothing else. This dangly DIY’s special ingredient is the humble bobby pin. When combined with a couple pieces of easy-to-work-with jewelry making hardware and some nail polish, you’ve got everything you need for this easy but impactful project.
After applying several colors of nail polish to make a chevron pattern, you hang them from your charm. We chose a simple triangle, but any shape would work and you can vary the number of bobby pins too, to customize the earrings to your taste. They look as terrific with jeans and a blouse as they do paired with a work or evening-appropriate dress. You'll reach for these colorful, high energy fashion accents again and again.

Instructions
1. Take 14 bobby pins and clip them in a row, evenly spaced, to an ice pop stick. The stick should go through the centers of the bobby pins.
2. Place two pieces of blue painter’s tape in an elongated “X” across the open ends of the bobby pins.
3. The tape will create a chevron shape over the bobby pins’ curved ends, and the most exposed part of the bobby pins will be at the center point of the chevron. The angle of the tape will be such that more area on the pins will be covered with the tape as it extends outward on either side of the center point.
4. Coat the exposed portions of the bobby pins not covered by tape with the nail polish.
5. Remove the tape and reposition it in the same “X” pattern, a bit above where you placed it before.
6. Paint the newly exposed areas of the bobby pins with the second color of nail polish.
7. Repeat steps 5-6, but use the third nail polish color.
8. Gather your jewelry pendant charm and an earring “S” hook hardware piece used in jewelry making.
9. Open the earring hook’s small bottom loop with the small needle nosed pliers and slip the loop on top of the charm onto it.
10. Close the loop on the earring hook back up with the pliers. The charm should now be securely attached to the earring hook.
11. Remove the painted bobby pins from the ice pop stick and slide 12-14 of them, or however many will fit, onto the bottom of the charm so they hang down. These will add the chandelier look to the earrings.
12. Make another earring to complete the pair by repeating steps 1-11.
13. The earrings are ready to be worn and will add a stylish pop of color and energy to any outfit.
Note to Editor: In the beginning of the video, the first group of bobby pins for earring #1 is 14; later when the earrings are assembled, 12 hang off each earring so I listed it as a range of whatever fits on the pendant. Thanks -- Carolyn
