Need an effortless update for your hairstyle? This quick and easy DIY project transforms basic bobby pins into eye-catching accessories. A trio of petite pom-poms adds a punch of personality to an otherwise basic updo. Plus, each bobby pin takes only a few minutes to make, so you can craft a complete collection in no time at all.
Every girl has a bevy of bobby pins in her bathroom but knows that they disappear quickly. Sprucing up those pins with pom-poms both enlivens ponytails and makes the bobby pins easier to find. To get even more out of this project, customize the color of the yarn, and make a set of pins to match each of your favorite outfits.

Instructions
1. Open the arms of the pom-pom maker. Wind the blue yarn around the curve of one of the arms. Continue winding until the arm is covered. Close the arm, then use the free end of the yarn, and wind it around the other arm. Once the curve is covered, close the arm.

2. Cut the yarn along each curve with an X-Acto knife. Hold the arms closed as you cut to keep the pom-pom from falling apart.
3. Cut the free end of the yarn. Cut a piece that’s about 1 foot long. Tie the yarn around the middle of the pom-pom maker. Tie two more knots in the yarn.
4. Open the arms of the pom-pom maker, then pull the tool apart. Trim the pom-pom with scissors, so that it’s even all the way around.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 with the pink and cream yarn.
6. Paint a bobby pin with “Serenity Blue” spray paint.
7. Slip one end of the yarn of the blue pom-pom in-between the arms of the bobby pin. Pull the pom-pom to the end of the bobby pin. Double-knot the yarn, then trim the ends. Repeat for the pink and cream pom-pom.
