Pencil
Awl or small drill
Tape or cable clips
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Battery pack (if using battery-operated lights)

Lay the canvas frame face down on a flat surface.

Using a pencil, sketch your desired pattern for the lights on the back of the canvas. Plan where each light will poke through.

With the awl or small drill, carefully poke holes where each light will go, following your pencil marks. Make sure the holes are just large enough for the lights to fit snugly.

Insert the lights into the holes from the back, ensuring each light bulb is pushed all the way through to the front of the canvas.

Tape or clip the light string to the back of the frame to keep it secure and in place.

Use a hot glue gun to secure any loose wires if necessary, being careful not to melt the wires.

Connect the lights to a power source. If using a battery-operated string, secure the battery pack to the back of the frame.

Turn the canvas around and admire your work – but resist admiring the reverse side!
