Directions
Position the two wooden crates side by side, so that the open sides are on the outside.
Secure the crates together using the heavy-duty tape. Wrap the tape around the crates multiple times to ensure they are securely attached.
Cut the foam cushion to fit the dimensions of the top of the crates (16x24 inches).
Spray adhesive on one side of the foam cushion and attach it to the top of the crates. Press firmly to ensure the cushion adheres well.
Lay out the plaid fabric on a flat surface, placing the foam-topped crates upside down on the fabric.
Measure and cut the fabric, leaving about 4 inches of extra material on each side to wrap around the crates.
Start with one side, pulling the fabric tight and stapling it to the edge of the crates. Repeat for all sides, making sure the fabric is smooth and tight.
Trim any excess fabric and ensure all sides are evenly stapled and smooth.
Turn the crate ottoman right side up and check for any adjustments that may be needed.
