DIY Mini Wooden Planter from Clothespins and Tuna Can
Materials
1 empty and cleaned tuna can
20 plain beige wooden clothespins
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Small plant or succulent
Potting soil
Directions
Ensure the tuna can is thoroughly cleaned and dried.
Disassemble the clothespins by removing the metal springs, leaving you with two wooden pieces per clothespin.
Using the hot glue gun, glue the flat side of each clothespin half to the outside of the tuna can. Repeat until the entire can is covered.
Allow the glue to dry completely to ensure the clothespins are securely attached to the can.
Fill the can with potting soil, leaving about half an inch from the top.
Plant your chosen small plant or succulent in the soil, patting down gently.
Water the plant lightly and place your new mini planter in the desired location.
Variations & Tips
For a personalized touch, consider painting the clothespins in different colors or patterns before attaching them to the can. Use metallic paint for a more modern look or pastel colors for a softer, whimsical feel. Alternatively, try using decorative washi tape on the clothespins for a quick and easy design change. For outdoor use, apply a waterproof sealant to the wood to protect it from the elements.
