This creative DIYer wanted a cheap storage option for her new remodeled bathroom, but she didn't want to break the bank. So she grabbed a regular old cardboard box and got to work on a budget-friendly solution.
The outcome looks like a chic, store-bought storage item. The best part about this project is that you can customize the look and style to your liking by changing the exterior and interior lining.
Materials
Amazon box
Thick rope (varying colors)
Scissors
Exacto knife
Hot glue gun
Favorite fabric
Ruler
Sewing machine (optional, can use inexpensive white muslin fabric liner)
Directions
1. To start, cut the flaps off the box.
2. Next, measure the box so you know how much fabric you need for interior lining. We chose to make our own custom liner, but you can also skip steps 2-4 if you are opting for something different.
3. Cut fabric to size of the box.
4. Use sewing machine to finish the edges.
Line your box with finished fabric.
5. Next, wrap the box in rope, gluing each bit as you wrap.
For added color, we mixed and matched the colors of rope used.
6. Stock with toiletries and you are done!
