How to make a cactus pin cushion with a Styrofoam ball

Bring a bit of the desert indoors with this Styrofoam ball craft that looks like a cactus. Silver pins and a small flower blossom turn a painted ball into a tiny Weingartia neocumingii. If you don't care for cacti, omit the flower and use red pins to emulate a holly bush.
When selecting supplies for this project, make sure the bottom one-quarter of the Styrofoam ball sits in the plastic pot and the ball touches the inner rim. If you don't have to worry about kids and pets, use this pin cushion as room decor.
