Summertime is here, and if you don't have the luxury of owning a swimming pool in your backyard, chances are you've got one of those inflatable kiddie pools to enjoy the luxury of some water beneath your feet. Even if you don't have an inflatable kiddie pool, you can easily pick one up at Walmart or Target for $20 or $30.
Luckily, kiddie pools aren't just used as mini swimming pools. If you've overgrown kids or don't have kids, you can upgrade them to the next level with the clever hack below. Yes, that's right. With the DIY below, you'll be able to turn a simple kiddie pool into a luxurious paradise. Neighbors will never know you made it from an inflatable pool!
1. First get a roll of rope, long enough to go around the kiddie pool's outer lining. Use masking tape to secure rope on inflatable pool edge.
2. Wrap the rope all the way around the inflatable pool.
Secure the end. This helps determine the length of rope you need to complete the rest of the hack.
3. Add 50" of length to the initial length of the rope.
Set aside.
4. Wrap rope around a piece of cardboard.
Keep wrapping it around until you get a good bunch.
5. Loop a piece of rope through the top.
Secure the wrapped portion onto the new rope with a knot.
6. Add a tied up section 7 inches or so from the top.
7. Cut the looped section using scissors so you create a fringed effect with the rope.
8. Grab a wool ball and a glue gun.
Secure ball onto rope.
Space out balls of different colors along the rope.
9. Repeat the steps above to create a second rope knotted fringe design element.
10. Wrap design around pool. It should look like the below.
11. Add a blanket inside the pool.
12. Add 2 pillows.
13. Style with additional decorative pillows.
Enjoy your new luxury lounge chair! You'll forget it was ever a kiddie pool.
