Crochet Wrapped Shower Curtain Rings
Materials
Bright orange acrylic yarn (approximately 50 yards)
Clear plastic shower curtain rings (as many as desired, typically 12 per package)
Crochet hook, size G/4.0 mm
Scissors
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Directions
Start by attaching your bright orange yarn to a clear plastic shower curtain ring with a secure knot.
Hold the ring in your non-dominant hand and the crochet hook in your dominant hand.
Insert the crochet hook under the ring, yarn over, and pull up a loop. You should now have one loop on your hook.
Yarn over again and pull through the loop on your hook to create a single crochet stitch.
Continue to single crochet around the ring, pushing the stitches together as needed to ensure the plastic ring is not visible.
Once you have covered the entire ring with single crochet stitches, cut the yarn leaving a 6-inch tail.
Pull the tail through the last loop on the hook to secure the stitches.
Use the tapestry needle to weave in the yarn ends on the underside of the stitches to hide them.
Repeat the process for each additional ring.
Variations & Tips
To create a more varied look, consider using multiple colors of yarn to create striped or patterned effects. You can also experiment with different crochet stitches, such as half-double crochet or double crochet, to add more texture. For a festive touch, add small beads or sequins to the yarn as you crochet. Additionally, try using different types of yarn, such as cotton or wool, for a different texture and feel.
