DIY Sunburst Wall Mirror
Materials
200 metallic gold plastic spoons
1 small frameless round mirror (10 inches in diameter)
Hot glue gun with glue sticks
Scissors
Cardboard (to create a backing)
Hanging hardware (optional)
Directions
Cut the handles off the plastic spoons, leaving about 1 inch attached to the spoon head.
Arrange the spoons in a circular pattern around the mirror to gauge spacing and placement.
Cut a piece of cardboard slightly larger than the mirror to serve as the backing.
Using the hot glue gun, begin gluing the spoon heads onto the cardboard, starting from the outer edge and working toward the mirror.
Continue layering the spoons, slightly overlapping each row, until you fill the entire cardboard backing.
Once the glue has set, attach the mirror to the center of the cardboard using hot glue.
If desired, attach hanging hardware to the back of the cardboard for wall mounting.
Variations & Tips
For a personalized touch, consider using different colored plastic spoons or spray painting the spoons in a color that complements your interior decor. You can also experiment with different mirror sizes or shapes, such as oval or hexagonal, to create a unique look. For a more rustic appearance, use wooden or bamboo utensils instead of plastic. Adding small decorative accents like beads or rhinestones between the spoons can also enhance the design.
