DIY Tall Entryway Planters

Materials
2 plastic trash cans from Dollar Store
2 plastic bowls from Dollar Store
Strong adhesive suitable for plastic
Spray paint (optional, in desired color)
Sandpaper (optional, for surface preparation)
Protective gloves (optional, for handling adhesive)
Directions
Clean and dry both the plastic trash cans and bowls to ensure the adhesive will bond well.
If desired, use sandpaper to lightly roughen the surface of the areas where the trash cans and bowls will be glued together. This helps the adhesive stick better.
Apply a generous amount of strong adhesive around the rim of the plastic bowl.
Place the bottom of the trash can onto the glued rim of the bowl, ensuring it is centered. Press firmly and hold it in place as per the adhesive instructions.
Allow the glue to dry completely as per the adhesive instructions before moving to the next step.
If you wish to paint your planters, do so in a well-ventilated area. Apply a coat of spray paint evenly and allow it to dry. Repeat for additional coats if necessary.
Once the paint is dry, your tall entryway planters are ready to be displayed!

Variations & Tips
For variations, consider using different sizes or shapes of trash cans and bowls to create planters of varying heights and styles. You can also experiment with different color schemes, such as a two-tone effect, by painting the bowl and trash can in contrasting colors. Adding decorative elements like rope or stenciled designs to the exterior can further personalize the planters. If you prefer a natural look, consider wrapping the planters with burlap or jute twine. Remember to always use adhesive that is suitable for the materials you are working with to ensure a strong bond.
