Wine Cork Boot Tray

Materials
80 natural brown wine corks
1 shallow rectangular black plastic baking sheet (dimensions matching cork layout)
Hot glue gun
Glue sticks
Directions
Gather 80 natural brown wine corks, ensuring they are similar in size for a uniform appearance.

Lay out the corks in the shallow rectangular black plastic baking sheet to determine the best arrangement. They should be placed upright, closely packed together.
Once satisfied with the arrangement, use a hot glue gun to secure each cork in place. Apply a generous amount of glue to the bottom of each cork before pressing it firmly onto the baking sheet.

Continue gluing each cork until the entire surface of the baking sheet is covered.

Allow the glue to dry completely before using the boot tray. This typically takes about 30 minutes.
Place the completed boot tray in your mudroom or entryway, ready to collect dirt and moisture from shoes and boots.

Variations & Tips
For a personalized touch, consider staining or painting the wine corks in different shades to match your decor. You can also experiment with different shapes of baking sheets, such as circular or oval, to create an alternative look. If you have extra wine corks, try creating smaller trays for umbrellas or keys. For added durability, especially in high traffic areas, consider sealing the corks with a clear, waterproof sealant.
