This DIY project transforms those old discs into a captivating piece of art using just a few common household items. It's an incredible way to upcycle materials that would otherwise go to waste and create something truly unique for your home.
This DIY art piece can be styled as a modern and eclectic wall hanging. Consider placing it in a room with neutral tones to allow the reflective quality of the CDs to stand out. Reflective CD Wall Art
Materials
4 scratched CD discs
1 roll of aluminum foil
1 baking sheet
1 tube of strong adhesive glue
Directions
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil to protect it from any residue.
Arrange the scratched CD discs on the lined baking sheet with the shiny side facing up.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. This will soften the discs slightly, making them easier to work with.
Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the discs to cool slightly until they are safe to touch.
Once cool, apply a small amount of adhesive glue to the back of each CD and press them onto a flat surface or board to create the desired pattern.
Allow the glue to dry completely before hanging or displaying your new art piece.
Variations & Tips
For a different look, consider painting the CDs with acrylic paint before arranging them on the baking sheet. You can also use CDs of different sizes to create a more dynamic pattern. If you prefer a more subtle look, use CDs with a matte finish or lightly sand the surface to reduce the shine. Another option is to incorporate other reflective materials like small mirrors or metallic paper to add texture and dimension to the art piece.
