Patriotic Solo Cup Lantern

Materials
3 red solo cups
2 white solo cups
2 blue solo cups
LED string lights (battery-operated)
Clear adhesive or glue suitable for plastic
Small drill or pointed tool for making holes
Fishing line or thin wire for hanging (optional)
Directions
1. Arrange the solo cups in a pattern: red, white, blue, red, white, blue, and red. This creates a symmetrical and visually appealing stack.
2. Use a small drill or pointed tool to create a tiny hole at the bottom center of each cup. These holes will allow the LED lights to pass through.
3. Start with the bottom cup (red) and thread the LED string lights through the hole, ensuring the lights spread evenly inside the cup.
4. Apply a small amount of clear adhesive around the rim of the first cup and gently press the next cup (white) on top, aligning the holes. Repeat this step for all cups, maintaining the pattern.
5. Continue threading the LED lights through each successive cup, arranging them to disperse evenly and illuminate the entire lantern.
6. Secure the top cup (red) in place and ensure all lights are inside the cup stack. Adjust the lights as needed to ensure even lighting.
7. If desired, attach fishing line or thin wire to the top of the lantern for hanging. Secure it through a small hole made at the top of the stack.

Variations & Tips
For a more personalized touch, consider using patterned or textured solo cups that match your specific decor style. You can also experiment with different lighting colors, such as warm white or multicolored LEDs, to change the mood of the lantern. If you prefer a more subtle look, use frosted cups instead of solid colors to diffuse the light more evenly. Alternatively, add a timer to the LED lights to automate the lantern's operation, ensuring it turns on at dusk and off at dawn.
