Perfect for adding extra storage and workspace in your kitchen, this DIY project utilizes simple materials and techniques to breathe new life into what would otherwise be waste. To best showcase this kitchen island cart, place it in the center of a spacious kitchen or against a wall for a more compact look. Pair with industrial-style or rustic decor elements to complement the natural wood tones. Consider adding a vase with fresh flowers or a bowl of fruit on top to add a pop of color and warmth. Coordinate with other wooden elements or metal accents for a cohesive interior design.

Secure the crates together by driving four wood screws through the bottom of the top crate into the top of the lower crate.
Attach the caster wheels to the bottom corners of the lower crate using the remaining four screws, ensuring that the two locking wheels are placed diagonally from each other for stability.
Center the wooden tabletop on top of the stacked crates and secure it in place by driving four screws through the tabletop into the top crate.

Variations & Tips
For a more personalized touch, consider painting the crates in a bold color to match your kitchen's theme or adding handles to the sides for easier maneuverability. Adding hooks to the side for hanging kitchen towels or utensils can increase functionality. If additional storage is desired, incorporate shelves within the crates or attach a towel bar to the side. These variations maintain the core structure of the DIY while enhancing its utility.
