Fused Plastic Bag Outdoor Seat Cushion

Materials
10-15 plastic grocery bags (preferably with colorful designs)
2 sheets of brown parchment paper
1 hot iron
1 measuring tape
1 pair of scissors
1 roll of waxed string
1 large sewing needle
Directions
Flatten each plastic grocery bag and cut off the handles and the bottom seam to create a flat sheet.
Layer 5-6 flattened plastic bags between two sheets of brown parchment paper.
Set your iron to a medium heat setting (no steam) and carefully iron over the parchment paper, fusing the plastic bags into a single, thicker sheet. Ensure even coverage and avoid overheating.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have three plastic sheets. These will serve as the layers for your seat cushion.
Trim each fused plastic sheet to a uniform size, approximately 18x18 inches, using the measuring tape and scissors.
Stack the three sheets together, ensuring the fused sides are facing outwards for durability.
Using the waxed string and sewing needle, stitch around the edges of the stacked sheets, leaving a small opening on one side.
Turn the stitched sheets inside out to hide the seams and fill with additional plastic scraps or old fabric for padding.
Sew the opening shut to complete your waterproof outdoor seat cushion.

Variations & Tips
For a more personalized cushion, consider using bags with specific color themes or logos that hold sentimental value. You can also experiment with different stitching patterns or add a zipper for a removable cover, allowing for easy cleaning and customization. If you prefer a softer cushion, increase the padding by adding more layers of fabric scraps or synthetic stuffing inside.
