Mix the concrete in a bucket according to the package instructions. Add water gradually and mix until you achieve a smooth consistency.
Fill each planter with wet concrete, leaving about 3 inches of space from the top.
Insert a rebar stake into the center of each planter filled with concrete. Use a level to ensure the rebar is perfectly vertical.
Allow the concrete to set for at least 24 hours or until fully cured.
Once the concrete has set, slide a white PVC pipe over each rebar stake. Ensure the pipe is snug and straight.
Securely attach one end of the string lights to the top of a PVC pole. Stretch the lights across to the other pole, creating a soft, glowing canopy over your seating area.
Plug in the lights and enjoy the illuminated ambiance on your newly transformed patio.

Variations & Tips
For a more robust structure, consider using galvanized steel pipes instead of PVC, which can withstand harsh weather conditions. To further personalize your project, paint the PVC pipes with outdoor spray paint in a color that matches your patio decor. Adding a layer of pebbles or stones on top of the concrete can enhance the visual appeal of the planters and assist with drainage. Consider solar-powered string lights for an eco-friendly and energy-efficient option that automatically turns on at dusk.
