Textured Cement Garden Blocks

Materials
Plastic mesh cherry baskets (5-10 baskets, depending on project size)
Quick-setting cement mix (1 large bag)
Water (as per cement mix instructions)
Beige drop cloth (to protect work area)
Trowel (for mixing and spreading cement)
Directions
Lay the beige drop cloth on a flat surface in your work area to protect it from cement spills.
Mix the quick-setting cement with water in a large container, following the instructions on the cement mix packaging. Stir until the mixture has a thick, consistent texture.
Pour the mixed cement onto the drop cloth, creating a layer about 1-2 inches thick. Use the trowel to spread it evenly.
Take a plastic mesh cherry basket and press it halfway into the wet cement. Adjust its position to ensure it is firmly embedded and evenly spaced.
Repeat the process with additional baskets, making sure they are uniformly placed and slightly overlapping at the edges for a continuous pattern.
Allow the cement to set and cure completely, as per the instructions on the cement mix packaging, before removing the baskets.
Once the cement is fully cured, carefully remove each basket to reveal the textured surface left behind.

Variations & Tips
To add variety to your garden blocks, consider using baskets of different sizes or shapes for a diverse textural pattern. You can also experiment with colored cement or add natural stone aggregates to the mix for added visual interest. For a more polished look, seal the blocks with a clear cement sealant to enhance their durability and color richness.
